Gladys T. Hartman

The funeral will be Wednesday for Gladys Treece Hartman, 76, Salisbury, who died Monday (Aug. 25, 2003) at her home after a period of declining health.

Born Feb. 28, 1927, in Rowan County, Mrs. Hartman was a daughter of the late Grady McGee and Emma Hill Treece.

Educated in the Rowan County Schools, she retired after 35 years with Cannon Mills and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband Arthur Eugene "Dink" Hartman; son Charles "Max" Sides, Mooresville; stepdaughter Sandra "Sandy" Creswell, Salisbury; brothers Luther and Charlie Treece, both of Salisbury; sisters Mary Lou Bowers, Kannapolis, Lillie Morgan, Salisbury, Mildred Trexler, Richfield, and Ethel Vanhoy, Albemarle; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services: 3 p.m. Wednesday, Lyerly Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Gene Sides, pastor, Antioch Baptist Church, Richfield. Burial, Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell.

Visitation: 2-3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.

Memorials: Rowan Regional Home Health & Hospice, or Antioch Baptist Church, 16920 Stokes Ferry Road.
