SALISBURY - Evelyn Rebecca Shaver, 80, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at her residence.
Born Feb. 8, 1932, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Grace Mae House Shaver and Algae Foy Shaver.
Miss Shaver was educated in Cabarrus County schools. She was employed by Grinnell Fire Systems, retiring after 40 years of service.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and Patterson-Wessinger Sunday School Class.
Preceding her in death were brothers James Robert (Bobby) Shaver, Thomas Ray Shaver; sister Mae Frances Blake; nephews Frederick Jay (Freddie) Blake and Anthony Wayne (Andy) Moore and Nico Modoux.
Survivors include her brother, Tony Shaver (Jeanne) of Salisbury; sister Renee Moore (Wayne) of Salisbury; nieces and nephews Ashley and Angela Shaver, Tammy Lambert, Todd Taylor, Tom Shaver, Kim Downing, Michelle Modoux, Tammie McGraw, Lynne Sloop; great-nieces and great-nephews Chloe, Savanna, Alex, Kristina, Neal and Jake, Lindsey and Courtney, Zoe and Gabby, Samantha and Tiffany and Remy Marcel.
Visitation: 1:30-3 p.m. Friday, March 2 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5202 Mooresville Road, Salisbury.
Service: 3 p.m. Friday following the visitation at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Nelson and the Rev. Gene Bruce will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
