Hazel Louise Bowers Almond, 87 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.
Hazel was born August 1, 1927, in Stanly County, to the late Daniel Crawford Bowers and the late Flossie Bowers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Monroe Almond; brothers, George Bowers and Floyd “Coot” Bowers.
An open visitation for friends and family was from 1-7 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
A graveside service, officiated by the Rev. Albin Greenwood, was at 11 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2014, at Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 24671 Millingport Road, Locust.
She is survived by a son, John Crawford Tucker and wife Ann of Oakboro; grandson, J. Allen Tucker; granddaughter, Lisa Huneycutt; and great-grandchildren, Lacie Tucker Morris, Sarah Huneycutt Estep, Jessie Huneycutt, Bruce A. Tucker and Katy Huneycutt.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
The family will meet at the home of her son, John C. Tucker, 20073 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro, NC 28129.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Almond family.
