Thomas Jefferson Whitlock, 97, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 at Atrium Health Stanly. Mr. Whitlock will have a visitation at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle from 6:00 p.m.-8:00p.m. Wednesday, September 30. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1st, at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle with Rev. Ron Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Whitlock was born January 21, 1923 in Montgomery, WV, the son of the late Albert "Bert" Whitlock and Docie Brown Whitlock. He was a member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church. He was in the Navy, 2nd Class Boatsman serving during WWII.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Frick Whitlock. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Brooks of Partlow, Virginia; five grandchildren Tonya Wright, Billy Baker, Shane Townsend, Oggie Townsend and Chris Rose and ten great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Peggy Townsend and Rosemary Baker; two brothers, Charles Whitlock and Woody Whitlock and two sisters, Anne Stanley and Virginia Kirk.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Whitlock family.
