Lona "Mae" Huneycutt Almond

MOUNT PLEASANT Lona "Mae" Huneycutt Almond, 94, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at Pruitt Health in Harrisburg.

Mae was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Stanly County to the late James Herbert Huneycutt and the late Katie Eudy Huneycutt. She was also preceded in death by husband, Edward John Almond; and nine siblings.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be held today (Wednesday, April 18), at 3 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, officiated by the Rev. Larry Patton. Burial will follow at the Herrins Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

Survivors include daughter, Linda (Ronnie) McCorkle of Concord; son, Terry Almond of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Dorothy McManus of Midland; three grandchildren, Daniel (Heather) Sellers of Harrisburg, Arion Edward Almond of Charlotte and Teela Mae Almond of Concord; three great-grandchildren, Lawson Edward Almond of Mt. Airy, Terrance Bradley Bowman of Concord and Knox Sellers of Harrisburg; two sisters-in-law, Doris Huneycutt and Beacy Huneycutt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
