Marie Huffman Eller

SALISBURY - Marie Huffman Eller, 92, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. 

Born Jan. 22, 1918, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Coy Huffman and Linda Starnes Huffman. She was educated in the Rowan County Schools and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Eller was a lifemember of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, a lifemember of the Hazel Trexler & John's Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Co-workers Circle with the LCW. 

Mrs. Eller was very active in all phases of church work, and also the community, loving helping people, being around people and especially cooking for people.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Reid Alexander Eller; and a daughter, Martha Elaine Eller.

Survivors include her son, Ken Eller and wife, Rita of Salisbury; one brother, Raymond Huffman of Salisbury; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Christina Eller and Sarah Holder.

Service and Burial: 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Gary Coble, Pastor. Burial to follow in church cemetery. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at the Church.

Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Powles Funeral Home.

Memorials: St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
