KANNAPOLIS - Joyce Cauble Almon, 68, of Kannapolis passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Five Oaks Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 2, 1942 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Sidney and Essie Allman Cauble.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley "Jimmy" Almon, Jr. in 1997.

She retired from Cannon Mills Co. Plant 1 where she worked in the sewing room. She was a former member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church and presently a member of Victory Temple. She was an avid gardener.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Gary Posey. Burial will follow at Bethpage Presbyterian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home.

She is survived by her son, Chuckie Almon (Donna) of Kannapolis; her daughter Kim Almon Wolfe (Jon) of Mooresville; three grandchildren, Caleb Almon, Brandon Prevatte and Sydney Wolfe; a great-grandchild, Landyn Crook and her brother Boyd Cauble of Charlotte.

The family would like to thank the staff and administration of Five Oaks Nursing and the staff and nurses of Hospice of Cabarrus County for their love and care shown Joyce and the family.
