Sunday, December 4, 2011 — David Nolan Almond, age 49, of 22187 Canton Road, Albemarle, passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2011 in Valdosta, Ga.
His memorial service will be at 3:45 p.m. December 4, 2011 at North Albemarle Baptist Church, Albemarle, where he was a member. Rev. Brad Lynch will officiate the service. The family will receive friends one hour before and one hour after the service at the church.
Born October 24, 1962 in Charleston, S.C., he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Almond of Albemarle.
He was a graduate of West Stanly High School, Pfeiffer University where he majored in history and education, and Stanly Community College where he earned a Registered Nurse degree. He was a Diabetes Educator for Novo Nordisk.
Mr. Almond was married to Ollie A. Almond of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Dianna N. Almond and Oleaha A. Almond, both of the home; and one sister, Rhonda A. Crisco.
The family requests memorials be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
