J.D. Lambert, 90, died at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Concord, N.C., to William Alfred and Essie Mae (Barbee) Lambert.
J.D. was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in West Frankfort.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the painter's union
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Lambert of West Frankfort; daughters, Karen (Randy) Russell and Becky Jordan, both of West Frankfort; son, Phil (Linda) Lambert of West Frankfort; brother, Odell (Faye) Lambert of Finger, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jay Lambert, Heath and Troy Jordan and Cory Severin; and three great-grandchildren, Laney Lambert, Bridgette Jordan and Rileann Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Pastors Paul Brown and Joey Dunning. Interment will be in Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 1961 of Orient, VFW Post 5764 of West Frankfort, VFW Post 177 of Zeigler, and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team. Visitation will from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Methodist Church.
