Harold T. Hodge

Mr. Harold T. Hodge, 80, of Salisbury passed away Sunday. March 1, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Hodge was born on March 13, 1928 in Rowan County, a son of the late Joseph and Lizzie Starnes Hodge.

Mr. Hodge was a graduate of Rockwell High School, was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service, and was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Mr. Hodge enjoyed fishing, woodworking, electronics and operating his saw mill.

Survivors include: two sons; Steve Hodge of Morehead City, NC and Rev. Eddie Hodge and wife, Melissa, of Salisbury, NC; grandson: Matthew Hodge; sister, Alice Shepherd of Salisbury; special friends: Bob and Jean Jones, Alton and Lillian Callicutt, Buddy Brown and Lena Crook.

Visitation: The family will be at the Powles Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Wednesday evening.

Services: Graveside Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 5, 2009, at the National Cemetery, Statesville Blvd, Salisbury by VA Chaplain, with Military Rites by the North Carolina National Guard. 

Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Carecenter, Salisbury, NC; or to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Family Life Center.
