Margaret Hinson Brown

Margaret Hinson Brown, 84, of Lexington, NC passed peacefully away surrounded by family on Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years M.T. “Bud” Brown. Margaret was born on September 11, 1932 in Lexington NC. She was the youngest child of Isaac Raymond and Bertha Lorraine Hinson.

Margaret was a devoted wife and mother who made family, friends, and church her priorities. A lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Lexington, Margaret was a participant of all church activities including a faithful member of her Women’s Sunday School Group and as a member of the Bereavement Committee. As a volunteer, she spent many days helping with school, band, and scouting events when her children were young. In her later life, she also served as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Margaret is survived by her four children Barry Brown (Jo) of Columbus & Lexington, NC; Jeff Brown of Lexington NC; Lynn Brown Andreas (Mike) of Apex NC; Libby Brown Young (Tony) of Wilmington NC; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be a private interment at Forest Hill Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Family and friends will always remember her for her smile, love of life and shopping, and her giving nature.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorial gifts to be made to the First Baptist Church of Lexington or Hospice of Davidson County for the comfort that both provided to Margaret .
