Notes for Adolphus Franklin Moose
Adolpuus Franklin Moose

Mr. A.F. Moose, pioneer Murray County citizen, passed away at Norman, Oklahoma, where he had been taken for treatment, on last Thursday, May 4, and laid to rest in the Palmer cemetery Friday. Funeral services were in charge of the Masons and the sermon preached by Rev. W.W. Danner.

Deceased was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, August 4
, 1871, and was 51 years old at the time of his death. In June, 1893, he was married to Miss Olive Sain at Ultima Thule, Arkansas. To this union ten children were born, who still survive. They are Miss Zela Moose of Norman; Albert, Dan, Frank, Marion [aka Charles], Robert, Paul, and Dale of Sulphur; Mrs. May [Estill] of Sulphur and Miss Annie Lou of Sulphur.

Mr. Moose was a prominent Mason, having filled nearly every post of honor in the Masonic Lodge. Before moving to Sulphur he was a member of the Palmer lodge.

Masons met the body at the train when it arrived from Norman and escorted it to the cemetery and there performed the last solemn rites over the body of a departed member. Mr. Moose was one of the most highly respected citizens of the county. He was a blacksmith by trade and followed it until it was crowded out by the garage business and went into that business after moving to Sulphur. He lost his garage in the recent cyclone in Sulphur.
