Geneva Lambert Martin

Geneva Lambert Martin, 86, of 620 Heathwood Drive, Albemarle, died at 12:32 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2007, in Forrest Oaks Healthcare Center.

Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. The Rev. John Futterer and The Rev. Mark Mabry officiated and burial was in Canton Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle.

Born Oct. 2, 1920, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Bertha Almond Lambert and was owner and operator of a beauty shop in McLean, Va. She was a member of Canton Baptist Church.

Her husband, George B. Martin; a sister, Jewell Carter, a brother, Newell Almond, and a niece, Cheri Carter Parrish, preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sisters, Velma Earnhardt and Ricardo Small, both of Albemarle; a brother, Alton Lambert of Albemarle; nieces, Kim West, Deidra Lockamy Cristy Carter Giddens and Kaye Robbins; nephews, Joe Earnhardt, Steve Almond, Sidney Lambert, Reg Lambert and Kevin Lambert; great-nieces, Ashley Lemons, Melissa Fox, Lindsay Lambert, Kellie Furr and Nickie Parrish Thompson and great-nephews, Jason Earnhardt, Jacob Petty, Patrick Lambert, Brad Lambert, Joe Adkins, Chad Gallimore, and Jay Almond.
