Oswell Miller Stiller
ROCKWELL - Mrs. Oswell Miller Stiller, 94, of Rockwell, passed away at The Laurels of Salisbury Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011.
She was born Sept.17, 1917, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Walter Miller and wife Lillie Goodman Miller.
She was a 1935 graduate of Rockwell High School and retired from Fiber Industries in 1979 where she worked in Quality Control.
Mrs. Stiller was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, as well as a charter member of the The Order of The Eastern Star Chapter 317. She also thoroughly enjoyed crocheting and jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stiller was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Woodson Stiller, on July 21, 1994. They were married on July 31, 1937,
Survivors include two sons, Chris Stiller of Rockwell, Walt "Randy" Stiller and wife Gloria of Rockwell; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services: A Graveside Service will be held Friday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. Bruce Sheeks, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held prior to the Graveside Service Friday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care.
Powles Funeral Home is assisting the Stiller family.
