Horace Hinson
CONCORD - Horace Brunson Hinson, 86, of Zion Church Road, Concord, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.
He was born on Feb. 24, 1925, in Stanly County to the late Jason and Rosa Eudy Hinson.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Howard Hinson.
Mr. Hinson was a pipe fitter at Cannon Mills. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during WWII.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 5340 Flowes Store Road, Concord, at 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, with Rev. Marvin Honeycutt officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. At other times the family will be meeting at the home.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Howard Hinson, of the home; his grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Hinson, of Concord, and Rebecca Leeann Hinson, of Charlotte.
Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord is serving the Hinson family.
