HENDERSON — Jeremiah Franklin “Jerry” Kluttz, 62, 240 Sam Brummitt Road, formerly of Salisbury, died Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2002) at his home.

Born Aug. 19, 1939, in Granite Quarry, Mr. Kluttz was a son of the late Lewis Craven and Mary Butler Kluttz. He was educated in the Granite Quarry schools; a graduate of Granite Quarry High School; and attended Pfeiffer College, Misenheimer.

He was employed with Owens-Illinois Corrugated Box Co., in Salisbury and Henderson. The company was later acquired by Georgia Pacific, where he retired in 1992 as a production manager.

A member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, Granite Quarry, he was a little league coach.

Survivors include wife Doris Pope Kluttz; son Evan Wendell Kluttz, Charlotte; daughter Tracy Franklin Kluttz, Salisbury; brother Lewis Craven “Bud” Kluttz Jr., Granite Quarry; and sister Lorraine K. Lentz, Granite Quarry.

Services: Memorial, 2 p.m. Friday, Shiloh United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Bill Hoyle. Private graveside services will be held in the church cemetery.

Visitation: After the service in the church fellowship hall. At other times, the family will be at the home of daughter Tracy Kluttz, 1006 Oakmont Court, Salisbury.

Summersett Funeral Home is in charge.
