John Fred Peeler, 82, of Rockwell, NC, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House with his loving wife Kay.
John was born on January 3, 1934 in Rowan County to the late Willie Mae West and the late Carr Andrew Peeler, Sr.
He attended Granite Quarry High School then served in the U.S. Navy. After the Navy, John became the manager and co-owner of Mid-South Electric in Austell, GA.
John was a member of the First Baptist Church Rockwell. He loved to golf and travel.
In addition to his parents, Willie Mae and Carr Peeler, he was preceded in death by his son Jody Peeler; stepson Bryan Manning, grandson Jeremy Fuller and brother Carr Andrew Peeler, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Kay Petrea Peeler, whom he married on August 9, 1975 in York, SC; son Tim Peeler of Mocksville; daughters-in-law: Nancy Myers of Salisbury, Vickie Manning of Villa Rica, GA; brothers: David Peeler (Nancy) of High Point, Pat Peeler of Rockwell, Robert Peeler of Salisbury; sister: Vivian Vess of Rockwell; grandsons: T.J. Peeler of Mocksville and Jason Fuller of GA; granddaughters: Ashleigh Nicole Manning of GA and Stephanie Webb of Wilkesboro; and great granddaughter Faith Fuller of GA.
Graveside Service: 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Boulevard, Salisbury, NC 28144, with Pastor Matthew Laughter officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
