Monday, May 13, 2013 — Ira Claude Barbee, 74 years of age, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at his home in Locust. He was born November 13, 1938 in to the late Realus Barbee and the late Joy Hartsell Barbee. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland. The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Providence Church of God, 12474 N.C. 24-27, Locust, with a 30-minute state. Rev. Donald Lisk officiated. Burial followed at Locust Presbyterian Church. Survivors include son, Jonathan R. Barbee and wife Angie of Stanfield; daughter, Claudette Harris and husband Jimmy of Stanfield; daughter, Kim Wilson and husband Steve of Stanfield; brother, Joe Barbee of Locust; sister, Donnie Page of Locust; and grandchildren Brittany, Mitchell, Jesse, Katie, Abby, and Cody. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Barbee family.
