Virgie Morgan Wyatt

Virgie Morgan Wyatt, 83, 210 Spruce St., died Friday (Feb. 9, 2001) at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle.

Born Dec. 31, 1917, in Rowan County, Mrs. Wyatt was a daughter of the late James A. and Arbie Wise Morgan. Retired from the Stanly County Schools, she was a dietician at North Stanly School.

She was a member of Badin Baptist Church, where she was in the adult Bible Sunday school class and a past circle chairman and Sunday school teacher. A member of Order of the Eastern Star, Tallahassee Chapter 208, she was a past worthy matron. She was a past worthy high priestess of Concordia Shrine 14, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Her husband, Fred C. Wyatt, preceded her in death. A grandson also preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons James C. Wyatt, Charlotte, and Wesley N. Wyatt, Albemarle; brothers Hoyle Morgan,China Grove, and Wayne Morgan, Salisbury; sisters Ethel Sloop, Kannapolis, and Linda Garmon, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and four granddaughters.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Badin Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dan Abernathy. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial, Wyatt's Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Stanly Funeral Home, Albemarle.
