Mary Ila Cranford Basinger, 93, Salisbury, died Thursday (Jan. 9, 2003) at Autumn Care of Salisbury.
Born May 2, 1909, in Stanly County, Mrs. Basinger was a daughter of the late Edward M. and Mattie Glover Cranford. She was educated in the Stanly County schools.
Retired from Surratt Hosiery Miller in Denton, she had also worked at Heist McCain Hosiery Mill in Rockwell. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, Gold Hill, and the senior adult Sunday school class.
Her husband,William "Bill" Basinger, died in March 1988.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Services: 4 p.m. Friday, Liberty United Methodist Church, Gold Hill, conducted by the Rev. Mark Helms. Burial, church cemetery.
Visitation: 3-4 p.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials: Liberty United Methodist Church Building Fund.
