Eloise Martin Morgan

Eloise Martin Morgan, 92, of Salisbury, passed away on Friday May 20, 2016 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury. Mrs. Morgan was born on January 14, 1924 in Marion, NC to the late Jacob Lorans Martin and Mary Zona Suttle Martin.

Eloise attended the McDowell County schools and worked at the Morgan School Cafeteria as a manager in the early 60's. She retired from Thorlo Knitting in Rockwell in 1986. A member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Eloise was a lifelong member of the St. Matthews Lutheran Women and the Good News Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lincoln Howard Morgan in 1993. They were married on June 29, 1946. She was also predeceased by her sister; Marcelle Martin Suttles.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ella Morgan White and husband Jeffrey of Statesville; two sons, Boyd A. Morgan and wife Patricia of Salisbury, and John H. Morgan and wife Jami of Salisbury; two brothers, Douglas D. Martin and wife Edna of Asheville, and Hughcell J. Martin and wife Judy of Salisbury; one brother-in-law, J.B. "Bunk" Suttles; three grandchildren, Elisa Morgan Hedrick, Alison Leigh White, and Amanda Morgan Meacham; and one great grandchild, Ella Grace Hedrick.

The family will receive friends on Sunday May 22, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday May 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Matthews Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Gary Coble. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Womens Group or Scholarship Fund or the Building Improvement Fund.
