High Point - Mrs. Callie Morgan Carter, 79, of East Fairfield Road died March 20, 2000, at her residence.
She was born July 10, 1920, in Anson County, a daughter of David Early and Lillie Anna Whitley Morgan. She was a resident of High Point most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of First Wesleyan Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. In 1938, she was married to James Thomas Carter, who preceded her in death in 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jane Wall and her husband, Stephen, of Archdale; a son, Danny Carter and his wife, Janet, of Randleman; four grandchildren, James D. Carter, Stephen Aaron Wall, Brooke C. Wall and Jessica Carter; two brothers, Buddy Morgan of California and David Morgan of Tennessee; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Gobble of Lexington and Mrs. Erlene Everhart of California.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Aron P. Willis and the Rev. James Smith. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, and other times at the residence of Stephen and Jane Wall, Longview Drive, Archdale.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, High Point.
