Jessie Trexler Cauble
SALISBURY - Jessie Trexler Cauble, 102, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011, at Genesis HealthCare of Salisbury.
Born Nov. 11, 1908, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Roxie Brown Trexler.
Educated in Rowan County schools, she entered nurses training in 1928 at Whitehead Stokes Hospital. She worked in private duty and staff nursing at Rowan Memorial Hospital for a number of years.
Employed by Western Electric Company (AT&T) in Burlington, she retired as head nurse over the medical department with 27 years of service.
A lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, she was also a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles F. Cauble, Sr., who passed away Oct. 12, 1988; and four brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Charles F. Cauble, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 22 at Lyerly Funeral Home.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23 in the James C. Lyerly Chapel, with the Rev. David Ridenhour officiating. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
