Ralph Eugene Stoner

The funeral will be Wednesday for Ralph Eugene 'Buddy' Stoner, 61, Salisbury, who died Monday (April 23, 2001) at Rowan Regional Medical Center after four years of declining health and three weeks of serious illness.

Born Jan. 25, 1940, in Rowan County, Mr. Stoner was a son of the late John David and Anna Kesler Stoner. He was educated in the Rowan County schools.

He retired in 1997 after 20 years from Fieldcrest Cannon Swink Plant, where he was a weaver. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.

Survivors include wife Barbara Drye Stoner, whom he married July 1, 1962; daughters Pam Bollinger, Salisbury, and Penny Hall, China Grove; brothers Harold and Ned Stoner, both of Salisbury; sisters Pearl Poole, Gold Hill, and Daisy Fesperman and Dot Stoner, both of Rockwell; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Services:4 p.m. Wednesday, Liberty United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mark Helms, pastor, and the Rev. Curtis Davis, pastor, Westside Baptist Church, Kannapolis. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 7-8:30 tonight, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Memorials: Liberty United Methodist Church, Shelter Fund.
