Evelyn Morgan Cranford

SALISBURY - Mrs. Evelyn Morgan Cranford, 90 of Salisbury, passed away on Feb. 23, 2013, at her daughter's house, surrounded by her family.

Evelyn was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Henry Morgan and Fannie Troutman Morgan. Educated at Pond School, Evelyn was a member of Union Lutheran Church and had retired from Lyon-Shaw Manufacturing of Salisbury.

She was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers since 1952 and loved to quilt and work in her garden.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Eli Cranford, on Sept. 6, 1997; brothers Robert, Harold, Jerry and Leo Morgan; and sisters Lorrene Cook and Ruby Almond.

Survivors include daughter Shelby Jean Cranford Josey and husband Carl of Salisbury; granddaughter Cindy Stiller and husband Jimmy of Salisbury; great-grandson Joshua Stiller and wife Angela of Salisbury; great-granddaughter Amanda Earnhardt and husband Kenny of Salisbury; great-great-grandson Jackson Stiller of Salisbury; brother Ralph Morgan and wife Rosa of Salisbury; sisters Myrtle Fleeman of Gold Hill, Ruth Turner of Albemarle, Mary Eudy and husband Bob of Charlotte, Betty Morton of Rockwell, Pearlie Carver and husband Ruben of New London; sisters-in-law Grace Morgan of Salisbury and Willie Mae Morgan of New London.

No services were held per Mrs. Evelyn's request.
