Edwin 'Ed' Miller
SALISBURY - Mr. Edwin "Ed" Roof Miller, 89, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at the W.G. "Bill" Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.
Mr. Miller was born on Jan. 13, 1923, son of the late Charles Alexander Miller and Dora Viola Earnhardt Miller. Mr. Miller was a 1940 graduate of Rockwell High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II.
Mr. Miller worked for Boughey & Rowe in Charlotte for 20 years and then went to work as a supervisor for Sunbeam Corporation in Manning, S.C., until he retired in 1985.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents, Edwin is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Flowe Miller; three brothers; and six sisters.
Mr. Miller is survived by his god daughter and caregiver Lynn Bost; and by many nieces and nephews.
Service: The funeral is Sunday, Sept. 30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. conducted by Rev. Bruce Sheeks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: The family is receiving friends at Powles Funeral Home Saturday, Sept. 29 from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Memorials: May be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rockwell, NC.
