Faye Johnson Terry

KANNAPOLIS - Faye Miller Johnson Terry, 89, formerly of 1218 Burke St., died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at Five Oaks Nursing Center, Concord, after a period of declining health. 

Born June 6, 1917, in Rowan County, Mrs. Terry was a daughter of the late Charles A. Miller and Dora V. Earnhart Miller. A lifelong area resident, she worked for Cannon Mills Company for 10 years, retiring in 1966. 

Mrs. Terry was an active member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she founded a Sunday School class and taught it for 25 years. 

Preceding her in death were first husband John Frank Johnson in 1972; second husband J.D. Terry in 1991; son Charles Duncan "C.D." Johnson; brothers Luther Reid Miller, Harley Jeremiah Miller and Charles Carey Miller; and sisters Helen Genola Johnson, Mazie Coleen Johnston, Laura Quinn Beaver, Robbie Lea Bostian and Anice Morgan. 

Surviving are brother Edwin Roof Miller of Rockwell; god-daughter Betty Lipe of Concord; stepchildren Claudine Tucker of Kannapolis, Loree Clark of China Grove, Patricia Collins of York, S.C., Evangeline Steen of Hartsville, S.C., and Glenn Terry of Alto Manta, Fla.; and numerous stepgrandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. 

Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh United Methodist Church, Concord, with the Rev. Michael Harrell officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. 

Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church. At other times, the family will be at the home of Edwin R. Miller, 665 Gold Knob Road. 

Memorials: Shiloh United Methodist Church, 4149 Odell School Road, Concord, NC.
