Seabron Hart Nance

ROCKWELL - Seabron Hart Nance, 90, of Rockwell died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at his residence.

Born October 16, 1918 in Anson County, Mr. Nance was the son of the late George W. Nance and Flavella Thomas Nance.

He attended the Anson County Schools and he was employed in sales at Curtis Publishing Company. Mr. Nance was a Baptist and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his first wife, Lula Vanhoy Nance who passed away July 7, 1972; his second wife Carrie Earnhardt Eller Nance who passed away May 5, 1992; and his grandson Benjamin Nance who passed away in 1983.

Mr. Nance is survived by his son Mr. Roger Nance and wife Addie of Rockwell; daughter, Mrs. Delores Brooks and husband Ronnie of Rockwell; step-sons, Mr. Lloyd Eller of Salisbury, Mr. John Eller of Faith, and Mr. George Eller of Matthews; step-daughter Diane Faulker and husband Larry of Kannapolis: sister, Mrs. Lois Hartsell of Richfield; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Service: 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel in Rockwell, conducted by Dr. Glynn Dickens, pastor, Rowan Christian Assembly. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Stanly County, with Military Honors conducted by the NC National Guard.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 12:30-2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2. The family will be at the residence the remainder of the time.

Memorials: Memorials be made to Rowan Regional Hospice, Salisbury, NC; Rockwell United Methodist Church, Rockwell, NC; or Rowan Christian Assembly, Salisbury, NC.

Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Nance family.
