Sunday, February 27, 2011 — Evelyn Jane Presson Furr, 82, of Albemarle, passed away on February 24, 2011 at Lutheran Home of Albemarle.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 26, at Hartsell Funeral Home. At other times the family will meet at the home of her son, 49336 Parker Memorial Road, Richfield.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 27, at Salem United Methodist Church following a 30-minute state. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jacqueline Tookey and Rev. Mike McClellan will officiate the services.
Mrs. Furr was born in Mecklenburg County on June 23, 1928, to the late Euris and Laura Presson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gurley Clifton Furr, in 1973.
Mrs. Furr is survived by her son, Tracy Furr, and wife, Susan, of Richfield; daughter, Reva Bowen of Trinity; sister, Ann Martin of Salisbury; granddaughter, Jody Smith and husband, Steve, of Trinity; and great-grandchildren, Cody, Garrett, and Gracie Smith.
Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 20987 Hwy 73, Albemarle, NC 28001.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at The Lutheran Home during her stay.
