SALISBURY - Mrs. Kathleen Trexler Brown Abernathy, 89 of Salisbury, died May 19, 2007 at the Genesis Eldercare in Salisbury.

Mrs. Abernathy was born October 11, 1917 in Rowan County, daughter of the late Murray Trexler and Carrie Earnhardt Trexler. She was educated in the Rowan County Schools. Mrs. Abernathy was retired from Cannon Mills Plant # 7 in the Weave Room after 28 years. She was also a member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church, A life member of the WELCA, and a former Sunday School Teacher, She was a former member of the Rockwell Senior Citizens Club and the St. Peters Seasoned Saints Club.

Mrs. Abernathy had an abiding strength and Faith in God. She was an avid Rose gardener and loved fresh flowers in her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Marvin Fred Brown, Sr. who died April 27, 1980, a son, Marvin Brown, Jr. who died in 1967, and a daughter, Dottie Harriett Brown Puckett who died June 16, 2003. Four deceased brothers, Paul, Frank, Clarence, and Earl Trexler. One deceased sister, Geraldine Miller.

Survivors are her daughter, Linda B. Stoner of Charlotte. Grandchildren who survive are Marty Puckett, Cheryl Wilkins, David Brown, Jennifer Kappius, Carrie Stoner, and Laura Stoner. Eleven Great Grandchildren also survive.

Services: The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Monday at the St. Peters Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. David Ridenhour, Pastor, with burial in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Powles Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:30pm today, Sunday.

Memorials may be made to the St. Peters Lutheran Church, Cemetery Fund: 2570 St. Peters Ch. Rd. Salisbury NC 28146.
