Ruth Beeker Bame

Ruth Beeker Bame, 86, of Salisbury, NC passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Lexington Health Care Center.

Born July 5, 1931 in Cleveland, NC to the late Augustus Clark Beeker and Alaska Vaught Beeker, she was a graduate of Cleveland High School Class of 1949. Mrs. Bame was a Deputy for the Rowan County Register of Deeds for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Bame was a member of First United Methodist Church since the age of 18. She served on the Altar Guild and with numerous other church activities. Mrs. Bame enjoyed cooking and decorating for the Sr. Members banquet at the church. She served as PTA president several times and was a Cub Scout den mother.

Preceding her in death was her first husband, James “Buck” Graham on February 9, 1969; second husband, Max Brown Bame on January 29, 1999; sisters, Ella Marie Kepley and Dorothy Howie; step-son, Chris Bame; and daughter-in-law, Anne Graham.

Surviving are her son, Richard Clark Graham of Idaho Falls, ID.; daughters, Sharon G. Connelly (Bill) of Mt. Ulla, NC and Terri Lynn McAlarney (Brian) of Denver, CO; step-son, Jerry Bame; sister, Jeanie Stikeleather (Tab) of Statesville, NC; sister-in-law, Pauline Graham of Salisbury, NC; sister-in-law, Brenda Ashley of Faith; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at 10 AM, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Mark Conforti. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Salisbury.
