Mildred 'Mickie' M. Thompson, age 80 of Albemarle, N.C. passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 in the Stanly Manor Nursing Center, Albemarle, N.C.
Her memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 1, 2015 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frederick Merry officiating. The family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the hour of the service.
Mrs. Thompson was born on October 29, 1934, the daughter of the late Adam Morton and Nellie Hatley Morton and was a retired employee of Cassie Cotillion. She was a member of Congregation Christian Church. She loved music, singing and her dogs. She was the youngest of eight children.
Mrs. Thompson was married to the late James Oliver Thompson.
She is survived by one son, Randy Thompson and wife Belinda of Albemarle, N.C., a sister-in-law, Joyce Morton and a number of nieces and nephews.
