Pearl Fisher Lieurance

Pearl Fisher Lieurance, age 89 of Rutherfordton died Sunday, April 14, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Pearl was born May 8, 1928 in Rowan County and was a daughter of the late Wade W. Fisher, Sr., and Ruth Huffman Fisher. She worked for many years as the secretary for the First United Methodist Church of Forest City.

Pearl was a member of Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church where she had served on the Session was a Church Elder and was active in the Presbyterian Women. She was a former member of the Rutherfordton Women's Club, a Girl Scout leader and the Griffith Rutherford Chapter of the DAR. Pearl also enjoyed traveling with the First United Methodist Senior group.

In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Lieurance and brother and sister-in-law, Wade W. Fisher, Jr. and Nancy H. Fisher.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie L. Miller (Jim) of Franklin, Tennessee, and Sherry L. Young (Scott Thomas) of Shelby. There are also four grandchildren, Bryan Miller (Johnsie), Kimberly Miller, Hunter Young (Molly), Chandler Young and a great grandson, Landon Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Donald C. Scofield, Jr. officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4 o'clock Saturday at Ursinus Cemetery in Rockwell, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at The Padgett and King Mortuary.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church Building Fund, or the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Libby Boone, Cindy McFarland, Mike and Arlene Smith and the staff of Oakland Living Center.
