Their children are David Shepherd, Howard Shepherd, Beth Bliss and Robert Shepherd. Grandchildren are Ben Shepherd, Julie Shepherd and Jules Bliss.
The couple were married June 3, 1951 at First Evangelical and Reformed Church (now First United Church of Christ), Salisbury, NC by Rev. Josh Levens.
Mrs. Shepherd is the former Eulene Fisher.
