Notes for Hubert Robert Lee Kesler
Hubert 'Bob' Kesler

SALISBURY - Hubert Robert Lee "Bob" Kesler, 81, of Salisbury, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at his residence after a period of declining health.

Bob was born March 16, 1932, in Rowan County, son of the late William Joseph and Verna Parker Kesler.

Educated in Rowan County, he was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1956 to 1958, and for several years as a reservist. He worked for Fieldcrest-Cannon Plant 7 for 44 years.

He enjoyed a lifelong passion of "tinkering with" all things mechanical and was a master at fixing lawn mowers.

A member of Union Lutheran Church in Salisbury, he was active in the Mildred Merrell Sunday School Class and the Good Timer's senior organization. A great supporter of his family, he loved to travel, tell stories, and listen to music, particularly the music provided by his children.

Mr. Kesler was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Howell, Jerry and Roy Kesler; and sister Jennie Lemley.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Faye Eveleene Cauble Kesler; and their four children and spouses, Linda Kesler (Aaron Butler), Bobbie Kesler-Corleto (Jimmy Corleto), Tim Kesler (Linda), and Tonya Brittain (Gene).

The Kesler family would like to thank those who were instrumental in Mr. Kesler's care: Dr. Myron Goodman, medical professionals of the Veteran's Administration Medical Center of Salisbury, the nurses of Gentiva Home Healthcare and friends and relatives who assisted as needed.

Visitation: 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at the Dutch Meeting Hall of Union Lutheran Church, 4770 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.

Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18 at Union Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. David Nuottila. Burial will take place in the church cemetery with full Military Honors conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Union Lutheran Church Music Fund.

Lyerly Funeral Home is serving the Kesler family.
