Leroy Eury
Mr. Leroy Eury, 81, of Barrier Store Road, Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at CMC-Northeast. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, officiated by The Rev. Ervin Houser. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Eury family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Mr. Eury was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Cabarrus County, son of the late Curtis Lee Eury and Laura Hatley Eury. He was a dedicated member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. He also was a farmer and retiree of Cannon Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Joe Eury, and brother-in-law, Donnie Kiker. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Beulah Whitaker Eury; four sisters, Edith Smith and husband John of Oakboro, Dot Kiker, Faye Hurlocker and husband Cletus, and Maye Tomkinson and husband James, all of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County and Crystal Love for Leroy’s care during his declining health.
Memorials may be directed to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County.
