Notes for Bonnie Alice Cranford
Bonnie Herrin

Thursday, June 11, 2009 — Bonnie Alice Cranford Herrin, 78, of 503 Camrose Circle, Concord, went to her heavenly home on Monday, June 8, 2009 at CMC-University.

Mrs. Herrin was born December 13, 1930 to Adam and Mae Stowe Cranford in Cabarrus County, now the town of Harrisburg. She attended Harrisburg School and graduated with honors.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Jack Lee Herrin in 2005; her parents; six brothers, James Alexander, Carl Edward, Dwight McRay, Harold Spencer, Wade Eugene, Joe Kenneth; and sister Mary Lou Cranford Ridenhour.

Surviving Bonnie is her beloved daughter, Victoria Alice Herrin of the home; sister, Jacille C. Herrin of Mt. Pleasant; brother, G. Parks Cranford of Concord; and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved most dearly.

In her earlier years, when health was not an issue, she was very active in church, which she loved and gave herself tirelessly. She was a GA leader, Intermediate Superintendent, Baby Nursery, adult teacher, sang in the choir, worked in Bible Schools, and went on Mission trips with the Youth to Beckley, W.Va. She was coordinator for meals for bereaved families. Bonnie also participated in the Fellowship Club for Senior Adults.

Bonnie's working career began at Parnell Supply, Concord, followed by Cannon Mills, Piedmont Natural Gas, Pelton and Crane Company of Charlotte and the NCDOT, also in Charlotte. She was a volunteer at Northeast Medical Hospital Clinical Services Building, and found satisfaction in all these institutions. Bonnie also worked part time for Ritchie Construction Co., owned by Jerry and Jacille Herrin. This, too, brought her much pleasure.

The family received friends Wednesday, June 10, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at First Baptist Church in Concord, with interment to follow at Oakgrove United Methodist Church, Herrin Grove Road (off Bridge Road), Mt. Pleasant. Pallbearers will be nephews, with honorary guests her Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Concord.

Memorials may be made to: Oakgrove United Methodist Church, 32056 Herrin Grove Rd., Mt. Pleasant, NC; First Baptist Church, PO Box 643, Concord, North Carolina; or Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC.

The family is being served by Hartsell Funeral Home – Concord.
