Laura Jo Hatley, 80 years of age, of Locust, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at Tucker House in Kannapolis.
Mrs. Hatley was born December 15, 1937 in North Carolina to the late Carl David Fortner and the late Irene Crisco Fortner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coy Sylvester Hatley; a grandson, Chase Hatley; four brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, Monday, December 18, 2017, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Midland. Burial will follow at the Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 24671 Millingport Road, Locust.
Survivors include sons, Channie David Hatley and companion, Barbara of Oakboro, and Allen Dale Hatley and wife, Sherry of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Saundra Whitley and companion, Aubrey Mullis of Locust; five grandchildren, Erin Hatley, Sarah Hatley, Jamie Hatley, Tyler Furr and Olivia Furr; step grandson, Justin Faile; five great grandchildren, Koltyn Hatley, Korbin Hatley, Kabe Hatley, Penelope Miller and Matthew Miller; and a brother, Howard "Bug" Fortner and wife Ann of Lexington.
