Ruby Irene Boger

Ruby Irene Hipp Boger, 80 of Gold Hill, NC passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008 at the Avante Nursing Home, Concord, NC. Ruby was born June 17, 1927 in Rowan County the daughter of the late James Henry Hipp and Lena Wilma Honeycutt Hipp. Ruby was educated in the Rowan County Schools. She shared membership with Zion United Methodist Church of Gold Hill and Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church of Kannapolis. While at Zion United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society, Pastor Relations Committee, taught Children’s Sunday School and was active in many other realms of the church. Ruby had worked for Cannon Mills and Richfield Manufacturing before retiring.

In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Jones Boger in Jan. 1993 and a daughter, Helen Ruth Nash in Oct. 2002; sisters, Bertha Hipp Lambert in Sept. 2002 and Mae Hipp Swinson in Sept. 2007, and also a brother, Carl Hipp.

Survivors; sons, James Lee Boger & wife, Judy of Richfield, Jerry Wayne Boger & wife, Marsha of Rockwell, daughter; Sherry Fowler & husband, Ronnie of Kannapolis, brother; Jim Hipp of Kentucky, sister; Lucille Knight of Rockwell. Grandchildren; Amy Boger, Wanda Brooks, Linda Yundt, Great grandchildren; Amanda Brooks and Jason Yundt.

Visitation: 12:30-2:00 PM Friday at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC

Funeral Services: 2:00 PM Friday, Jan. 11, 2008 at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel, Rockwell, conducted by Rev. Marion Fulk, Pastor of Zion United Methodist Church, Gold Hill and Rev. Jimmy Barnhill, Pastor of Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church, Kannapolis. Burial will follow at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gold Hill, NC
