ROCKWELL - Mrs. Frankie Brown Vanhoy, 74, of Rockwell, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 10, 1939, in Rowan County to the late Arthur Gordon Brown and Mildred Barger Brown Simerson. A member of Faith Lutheran Church, Frankie was educated in Rowan County schools.

During her career, she worked at various employers, including Textile Products, ThorLo and Cannon Mills. Also a homemaker, Frankie enjoyed sewing, painting and taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Kenneth Wayne Vanhoy; son Kenneth "Mark" Vanhoy; daughter Terri V. Earnhardt; granddaughter Ashley Denise Vanhoy; and sister Judy B. Medlin.

Frankie is survived by her grandson, Matthew B. Earnhardt and wife Summer of Rockwell; great-grandson Matthew Luke Earnhardt; sisters Brenda B. Kluttz of Rockwell and Phyllis B. Vanhoy of Faith; adopted grandson, Tommy Dennis of Rockwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell Friday, May 9 from 4 to 5:45 p.m.

Service: A memorial service will follow in the chapel of Powles Funeral Home on Friday at 6 p.m., conducted by Rev. Randy Conley, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.

Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the family of Mrs. Vanhoy.
