SALISBURY - Marvin Wayne Fraley, 67, of Salisbury, passed away Jan. 2, 2010, at the N.C. Baptist Hospital.

Wayne was born Dec. 19, 1942, in Rowan County, a son of the late Delmer Lee Fraley, Sr. and Kathleen Moose Fraley. He was educated in Rowan County schools and had a two-year degree in Marketing at Rowan Tech.

He was a route salesman with I.B.C. (Merita Bakery) and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the American Legion and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam.

Wayne's greatest love was his grandchildren, who he thought the sun set and rose on.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Olivia Morgan Najarian; a brother, Delmar Lee (Sonny) Fraley, Jr.; and a nephew, Delmar Lee Fraley, III.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dottie Morgan Fraley, whom he married Feb. 2, 1964; one son, Stacy Wayne Fraley and wife Brandy of Richfield; and a daughter, Mrs. Dena Fraley Najarian and husband David of Salisbury. Four grandchildren also survive, Joseph Najarian, Wesley Fraley, Koltt Fraley and Macallister Fraley.

Service: The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. David Ridenhour, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military honors conducted by the N.C. Military Funeral Honors Guard and the Rowan County Honor Guard.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at the residence the remainder of the time.
