Louise Holshouser Barger

SALISBURY - Louise Holshouser Barger, 90, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Croasdaile Village at The Pavilion in Durham.

Born Feb. 16, 1920, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Maggie Rebecca Lyerly Holshouser and Lewis F. Holshouser. Mrs. Barger was a graduate of Rockwell High School.

Mrs. Barger worked in the Weave Room at Cannon Mills Plant 1 in Kannapolis, from where she retired.

She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where she was very active. Mrs. Barger was also a very good cook and enjoyed cooking for her church, family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Floyd "Pop" Adam Barger, who died Feb. 27, 2005; son Barry Barger, who died May 10, 1985; sisters Mary Ruth H. Barringer, Kathryn H. Shive, Marguerite H. Eagle; and brother Hoy V. Holshouser.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Susan White (Robert) of Bahama, N.C.; great-granddaughters Abigail Catherine White and Madilyn Danielle White. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 2-3 p.m. Sunday, April 11 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Ridenhour officiating.

Service: 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church following the visitation. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorials: St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund.
