Mr. Donald Monroe Barger, 61 of Salisbury died Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Barger was born January 10, 1948 in Cabarrus County, son of the late Mr. Willis Clive Barger and Mrs. Jennie Pauline Holshouser.
Mr. Barger was educated in the Rowan County School System and graduated from East Rowan High School in 1966 and attended Salisbury Business College. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran having served in the 3rd Army Headquarters in Atlanta, GA and in the 8th Army Headquarters in Camp Howze Korea. Mr. Barger retired from Norman's in Salisbury after 26 years as a Data Processing Manager. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and also played the piano for many weddings and funerals.
Mr. Barger is survived by his sisters Mrs. Sherry Slough and husband Steve of Lake Norman, Mrs. Ann Ballard and husband Tommy of Kannapolis, Penny Abel of Atlanta, Ga. and nephews Mr. Gary Livengood and wife Pam of Canton, GA. and Mr. Michael Livengood and wife Olivia of Gold Hill, NC.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday November 15, 2009 at the Family Life Center of the Faith Lutheran Church.
The funeral service will be at 3:00 PM Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Sifford, Interim Pastor.
Burial will be at the Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, PO Box 669 Faith, NC 28041..
