ROCKWELL - Lillie Belle Holshouser Misenheimer, 83, of Rockwell, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at her residence.
Lillie was born Dec. 14, 1925, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late George M. and Margie Fesperman Holshouser.
Mrs. Misenheimer was educated at Rockwell High School, retired from Cannon Mills Plant 11 in 1982 and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Salisbury.
She was an avid gardener and loved flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George "Butterball" Junior Misenheimer, on Dec. 14, 1980; three brothers, Jack Holshouser, Marius Holshouser, Jr., and Bud Holshouser; sister Dorothy H. Sloop; grandchild Michael Newton; and great-grandchild Jeremy Misenheimer.
Survivors include sons Billy David Misenheimer and wife Jody of Salisbury, Larry Ray Misenheimer and wife Sandy of Gold Hill, Gary Wayne Misenheimer and wife Donna of Rockwell and Timothy Steven Misenheimer of Granite Quarry; daughters Mary Ann Newton of Rockwell, Peggy M. Swinson of Rockwell, Judy Christine Plummer and husband Bobby of Rockwell, Cathy Lynn Severt of Salisbury; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell, and the remainder of the time at the home of a son, Billy David Misenheimer of Salisbury.
Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Salisbury, conducted by Rev. Bill Adams, Jr. (pastor). Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell.
Memorials: May be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2515 East Innes St, Salisbury; or Rowan Regional Hospice.
Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Misenheimer family.
The family gives special thanks to staff members of Rowan Regional Hospice.
