Jean Broadway Holshouser

Jean Broadway Holshouser, 86, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Glenn A, Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury, NC.

Jean was born on October 25, 1930 to the late Alfred and Minnie Kepley Broadway in Rowan County, NC. She was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School. Jean retired as a Secretary from Cannon Mills Plant 7 after 34 years. Jean was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, the John's Sunday School Class, and the women's circle.

Jean enjoyed fishing at the coast, working in her flowers, going to auctions, and watching Atlanta Braves Baseball.

Jean is survived by her Sons, Jerry A. Holshouser and wife Pat of Salisbury, NC, and Phil E. Holshouser and wife Tara of Salisbury, NC; Two Grandsons, Dylan Holshouser, and Tyler Holshouser; step grandchilden and step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, L.H. Holshouser, Jr.; Brothers, Robert Broadway, James Broadway, and William Broadway, Sisters, Lucille Barringer, Aeroleigh Barringer, Peggy Sides, and Dora Mae Miller.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 19, 2016, 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Family Life Center, Salisbury, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016, 3:00 pm at the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC, with Rev. Gary S Coble, officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to caregivers Marcine Peacock, Amber Furr, Carol Mathis, Edie Gaither, Norma Beeker, Ada Lyerly, Heather Holland, and the staff at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund, or the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
