Tuesday, February 24, 2009 — Jessie D. Eudy, 71, of 409 Renee Ford Road, Locust, died at 6:52 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Tucker Hospice House.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Bethel Baptist Church in Locust, where he was a member. The Rev. Charlie Littlejohn will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Hartsell Funeral Home- Midland. At other times the family will meet at the home.

Born Dec. 31, 1937, in Ridgecrest, Stanly County, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Lectie Jane Honeycutt Eudy. He was a retired carpenter for Trotter Construction.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Eudy, and two sisters, Mattie Bell Smith and Estelle Whitley.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Almond Eudy of the home; two sons, Mike Eudy and wife, Janie, of Oakboro and Jerry Eudy and wife, Jeanne, of Locust; two brothers, Ernest Eudy of Locust and Henry Eudy of New London; five sisters, Beth Furr of Locust, Ann Paige, Gertie Almond and Scenie Hunter, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Peggy Hartsell of Locust; and four grandchildren, Justin Eudy, Jenna Perry, Mitchell Eudy and Jeremy Eudy.

Memorials may be made to: Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, Kannapolis, NC.
