Thursday, January 25, 2007 — John Curtis “Curt” Eudy, 83, of 25436 Millingport Road, Locust, formerly of the Ridgecrest Community, died at 6:44 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in Stanly Regional Medical Center.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Elder Rommie Williams will officiate and burial will be in Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Locust. Military honors will be conducted at graveside by DAV Albemarle-Stanly County Chapter 12.

Born Aug. 26, 1923, he was a son of the late Glover Cleveland Eudy and Lectie Jane Huneycutt and was a retired foreman for Vulcan Materials in Gold Hill. He enjoyed gardening, especially his tomatoes, and loved spending time with his family. He served in the U.S. Marines

His wife, Virginia Ruth Lambert, and two sisters, Estelle Whitley and Mattie Bell Smith, preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Kelvin “Mahlon” Eudy of Locust; two daughters, Renee Eudy Hatley of Charlotte and Teressa Eudy Sides of Oakboro; brothers, Ernest, Jessie, and Henry D. Eudy; sisters, Gertie Allmon, Ann Page, Scenie Hunter, Elizabeth Furr and Peggie Hartsell; a special friend, Ruby Lambert of Richfield; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. At other times they will meet at his home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County.
