John Frank Frye, 74, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at his home.
Born March 21, 1931, in Salisbury, NC, he was the son of the late William Bryan Frye and Carrie (Miller) Frye.
A graduate of North Carolina State University, he was a retired ceramic engineer with Kohler, a member of Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church and a proud U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Jane (Frazier) Frye; a son, Tim Frye and his wife Stacey of Greensboro, NC; three daughters, Lisa Higley and her husband Charles of Franklin, TN, Melissa Ridings and her husband Reggie of Boiling Springs, and Dawn Sheppard of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Amy Elam of Charlotte, NC, and Josephine Johnson of Virginia; and six grandchildren, John and Jessica Sheppard, Andrew and Jonathan Frye, Julia Higley, and Jennifer Ridings.
Visitation was 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Cannons Camp Ground United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. James W. Ivey. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials could be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Boulevard, Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301; to Cannons Camp Ground United Methodist Church, 3450 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307; or to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
