Shirley Morgan Leonard

SALISBURY - Shirley Morgan Leonard, 70, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Magnolia Gardens in Spencer. 

Born in Rowan County on Dec. 31, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Jasper C. and Gladys Holshouser Morgan. She was a retired seamstress and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Mocksville.

She is survived by two daughters, Laura (Rusty) Jackson of Salisbury and Patti Leonard of Gold Hill; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion of 20 years, William "Willie" Leonard; a sister, Ila Mae Drew; two half-brothers, Clifford "Bud" Brady and Harvey Brady; and her stepmother, Ophelia Morgan. 

Service and Visitation: A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Darrel Cox and Rex Podunavac officiating. Burial will be in Legion Memorial Park in Cooleemee. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the church.
