Notes for Freda Morgan
Freda Morgan Brittain

Freda Morgan Brittain, 102, of Salisbury, NC went to her eternal home with her Lord, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at her daughter’s home.

Mrs. Brittain was born February 16, 1920 in Rowan County, NC of Fannie Morgan Morgan and Charlie Calvin Morgan. She was educated at the Pond’s School which was a one room school house and Rockwell High School. Mrs. Brittain worked at Cannon Mills, Leisure Lads, and Sharels as a seamstress.

A lady of great faith, she was the last living charter member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Salisbury which was established in 1954. She was an avid gardener of vegetables and flowers and enjoyed her hobbies of quilting and sewing. Daughter Jean said her mother always said “I Love You too” back to her until her last few days of life, then she would only say “I Love” and indeed she did. Mrs. Brittan was able to profess her love to her family to her last breath. What a beautiful loving soul she was throughout her whole life.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Walter Lee Brittain; grandson Anthony Brittain; brothers, Coy L. Morgan, Gilmer Morgan, Reather Morgan, Felix Morgan and Fred Morgan and sisters, Eva Morgan Sides and Beatrice Morgan Goodman.

Surviving is her son, Walter Edwin Brittain of Salisbury, NC; daughters, Anna Nix of Salisbury, NC; Lynda Middlemas (William) of Amelia Island, FL; Mary Caldwell of Cornelius, NC; and Jean Young of Churchland, NC; nine grandchildren: Brian Nix, Amy Nix Lowe, Rich Middlemas, Morgan Middlemas Duffey (Mike), April Caldwell Mosley (Dave), Leslie Caldwell, Robbie Young (Leslie), Tommy McIntyre (Veronica) and Danny McIntyre (Jen) and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A special thank you to the Novant Health Hospice Care Team of Karen, Melissa and Tiffany for their dedicated and compassionate care.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM Saturday (Mar 12) at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 1 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Phillip Johnston. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2515 E. Innes St., Salisbury, NC, or Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, 1229 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC.
